| Report of a Coyote in WH Park |
Posted on May 13th, 2012
Please be cautious when walking in Windham Hill Park, especially around dusk or early evening as one resident has reported they spotted a coyote in the center or the park. The animal was alone and laying in the grass in the center of the park in the area where soccer games are often held. Please exercise caution and keep children away from unfamiliar animals, that might initially appear to be a household pet. Overland Park Police advise that they do not attempt to remove coyotes unless they get into a resident's home. The OP Police also advised that coyotes are a protected species. Please enjoy the park but always be aware of your surroundings, especially around dusk.
